Welcome to Balbuena Music! Thank you for stopping by. We are pleased to present the life and works of John Balbuena right here all together on this one site. When I was about six years old, my mom dropped me off at my friend’s house for some kid play time. It turns out that his big brother was having band practice in their garage. I was blown away! My buddy must have felt ignored because I hung out at the rehearsal the entire time.
They played several radio hits of the day. They had a typical rhythm section (Guitar, Bass, Drums and Electric Piano). I remember coming home and pounding hard on the funky old piano in our living room and crying profusely. My mom
came rushing in asking “what’s wrong?” I said “ I can’t play Louie Louie!”.
She must have felt my pain because I soon got piano lessons. To this day, i still occasionally cry when I can’t play something. Of course the tunes are a bit more challenging.
I followed my dream to California and graduated from college with a degree in music production. I write my lyrics and produce my songs in my home studio.
I find inspiration all around me. I try to make my music representative of myself and my generation. I love the places that most people don't give a second glance.
